Questions and answers
Everything people ask before they stick one on. Can't find yours? Email [email protected].
What is I Lose Everything?
I Lose Everything is a UK brand of QR stickers and tags for the things people lose: chargers, water bottles, calculators, headphones, keys, school bags and PE kit. Every sticker has its own code. Whoever finds your stuff scans it with their phone camera and sends you a message through our website, without either of you seeing the other's details.
How do lost-and-found QR stickers work?
Stick one on, then scan it once with your phone camera and say what it's on (about 20 seconds, no app). If someone finds it, they scan it, see a simple "You found something" page with the item's name and your note, and type a message. We email it to you, and you reply from your account. When you've got it back, tap "Got it back".
Does the person who finds my stuff see my name, phone number or email?
No. The finder sees only what the item is, the name you gave it and your note. Messages go through us both ways, so the finder never sees your name, number or email, and you never see theirs. A finder's email address, if they give one, is deleted 90 days after the conversation goes quiet.
Do I or the finder need an app?
No. Both of you use your normal phone camera and web browser. The finder doesn't need an account or to log in, and is never asked to pay or download anything.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay for the pack and that's it. Messaging and your account are free for as long as we run the service. Packs start at £4.99.
Are they safe for children's things?
Yes, they're designed for it. Children under 13 never have accounts: a parent or carer holds the account, adds the child by first name only, and gets any messages. The child's name is never shown to anyone who scans the sticker. We follow the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code.
How is this different from an AirTag or a Tile?
Trackers like AirTags and Tiles use a battery and Bluetooth to show where something is. I Lose Everything stickers have no battery and no tracking: they rely on the person who finds your thing scanning it. That makes them cheap enough to put on things you'd never put a tracker on, like a charger, a water bottle, a calculator or a PE bag. Plenty of people use both.
What's the difference between a sticker and a tag?
Stickers go on hard things with a flat or gently curved surface: a charger brick, a laptop lid, a bottle, an earbuds case. Once stuck, a sticker stays put. Tags have a hole and a split ring for things with a loop: keys, a bag zip, a lanyard, a coat. Tags can move to a new keyring.
What's in the Starter School Pack?
One student's kit: 8 stickers and 2 tags, covering up to 10 items such as a water bottle, calculator, pencil case, charger, headphones, laptop, lunch box, PE kit, school bag and keys. It costs £14.99. See the Starter School Pack.
Can schools, universities or PTAs buy in bulk?
Yes, from 200 packs, with your logo next to ours if you like. Schools and PTAs can sell packs as a fundraiser and keep £2 from each. The school never hands us any pupil data: families claim their own packs. Ask about bulk orders.
What if the QR code won't scan?
Every QR has its code printed underneath. Go to iloseeverything.com/claim and type it in.
Where do you deliver, and what does it cost?
We post to UK addresses. Delivery is free. You can return unused packs within 14 days for a refund.
Can I buy a gift card?
Yes. Gift cards from £5.00 to £100.00 are emailed to the recipient with a code to spend on any pack. They never expire. Send a gift card.
